About oxygen running

An oxygen run is a slower, but longer run.

I often run (ultra) marathons and that enhances the amount of oxygen in my blood . VO2MAX is the maximum oxygen absorption capacity that a body can move per unit of time during exercise . VO2MAX is therefore a good indication of physical fitness. Instead of getting a better speed, I focus on better VO2MAX.

As often as possible I do my commute on foot or by bike. If I commute more slowly, I absorb my environment more and indirectly give more oxygen to the planet. I previously traveled from Australia to Belgium without a plane. Physical energy can take you far without impacting the planet.

When I take on an (oxygen) running challenge, I like to take the opportunity to support an organization I have a connection with. I am committed to the challenge and am calling on others to support the cause in question. In this way I help, to a small extent, to give extra 'financial' oxygen to the charities I respect.
